FME now supports 12dxml

We have been working with Safe Software to integrate the reading and writing of our 12dxml format into their FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) product to streamline the conversion and transfer of metadata enabled models between 12d Model and GIS systems.

Following testing by 12d NZ and Safe with Wellington Water Ltd in their Digital Asset Metadata Management program, Safe announced that FME 2019.2 can read the civil industry standard 12dXML format, and in early 2020 will be able to write 12dXML.

This means 12d Model users can easily export their 3D model and BIM information as 12dXML and FME users can then convert, validate and consume 12d Model data without the risk of losing metadata information between the two entities...so 12d Model users and GIS professionals can seamlessly share any data together!

12d Innovation Awards 2020

Around the world, our industry faces challenging problems and finds inventive answers. The 12d International Innovation Awards highlights some of the best of those solutions.

Entries close 30th April 2020. The prize pool has actually blown out to well beyond the $17,000 we originally promised, as Lee has thrown in a Full Technical Forum Package for the 12d International Technical Forum 2022 for each category winner as well as for the Overall Winner!

There’ll again be categories, with a new twist: BIM & Visualisation, Design, Water,Surveying & Construction, Customisation, ‘Banishing the Drafting Demon’, and 12d Synergy.

And of course a giant prize pool worth nearly $20K!

We’ll also award certificates for the best of: Small Company, Medium Company, Large Company, and Government.
